NMC Licensing Examination Mandatory Requirement

Passing the Nepal Medical Council Licensing Examination (NMCLE) is a mandatory legal requirement for all medical graduates (MBBS and BDS) from domestic or international medical colleges to practice medicine or enroll in postgraduate (MD/MS) residency programs in Nepal.

Exam Format and Passing Standard

The NMCLE is a computer-based or paper-based 180 Multiple Choice Question exam testing clinical knowledge across Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Gynaecology, Orthopedics, and Basic Medical Sciences. Candidates must secure at least 50% marks to pass.
